MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003467 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 17, 2024, for 'portable laser-based printing device.'

Inventor(s) include Aarti Rana Chauhan; Rebello Calestine Colin; and Madhur Chauhan.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable laser-based printing device, includes a body 1 positioned on a paper over which an image is to be printed, a user-interface installed in a computing unit 2 is wirelessly associated with device accessed by a user to feed image to be printed based on which a microcontroller wirelessly linked with computing unit 2 sends a signal to an image aligning module 4 installed within body 1 for adjusting/aligning image over page as per dimensions of image, a laser generation unit 6 installed within the body 1 for emitting high intensity laser beams towards a laser projection unit 7 paired with generation unit 6, that is focused on paper through a convex lens 8 installed in continuation to projection unit 7, for creating incisions on paper for printing image over paper."
