MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641022352 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 25, for 'portable head holder.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Poovarasan Murugaiyan; Dr. Sophia Joans V; and Dr. Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention unveils a portable head holder specifically designed to support and stabilize the head of children with developmental delays, neuromuscular disorders, or other conditions resulting in poor head control. The source of this invention was derived from CP chair with head support, due to its large size and inability to transport it easily, this head holder was designed to make sure that primary care giver could provide constant support and stability to the child's head without having to constantly monitor the child. The device encompasses an ergonomically contoured head support structure made from lightweight, hypoallergenic, and durable materials, integrated with a Velcro tape, cushioning pads, and a modular frame that allows compatibility with various seating systems, strollers, or therapy chairs. The invention provides a secure yet comfortable means of maintaining proper head alignment, thereby reducing caregiver burden and improving the child's safety, posture, and engagement during daily activities or therapeutic sessions. Its portable, adjustable, and easy-to-clean designed to ensure comfort and convenience for both clinical and home use, offering a practical solution for pediatric rehabilitation and mobility assistance."
