MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018877 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'portable facemask securing device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Akash Kumar Verma; and Aishwary Awasthi.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable facemask securing device, comprises of a curved-shaped extendable body 1 developed to be accommodated around neck of a user, a pair of protrusions 2 configured with the body 1 that are to be engaged with ear loops of a face mask to be worn by the user, a pair of suction cups 3 configured with the body 1 via a pair of telescopically operated links 4 for supporting the body 1 on the user's shoulders, an ultrasonic sensor configured on the body 1 for detecting dimensions of the user's neck, a camera 5 mounted on the body 1 for capturing multiple images of surroundings, a pair of motorized sliders 6 configured between the body 1 and protrusions 2 for translating the protrusions 2, and an air quality sensor positioned on the body 1 for detecting air quality index (AQI) in the user's surroundings."
