MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012989 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'portable crop harvesting and bundling device.'

Inventor(s) include Sandeep Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable crop harvesting and bundling device, comprises of a frame having a waistband 1 that is to be worn on the user's waist, a motorized roller 11 for loosening/tightening the waistband 1, an imaging unit 2 for capturing multiple images of the frame to generate a 3-dimensional map of field, a touch interactive display panel 3 for displaying the captured images of the crop which is harvested, a rod 4 to extend for positioning in proximity to crops at the user-specified area, a motorized circular blade 7 for cutting of the crops, a curved member 6 for gathering the cut crops, a chamber 10 arranged on the member 6 for storing the wire strip, and a robotic arm 9 arranged on the member 6 for gripping and positioning a wire strip around the crops to form a crop bundle."
