MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023139 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 24, 2024, for 'portable cooking assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable cooking assistive device, comprising a frame 1 having a ring-shaped body positioned on a fixed surface of an enclosure, plurality of extendable plate 2 via a motorized pivot joint 3 for providing angular movement to plate 2 to allow a user to position utensils over body, an imaging unit 4 to detect type of utensil that the user is holding, a motorized sliding unit 5 for translating plate 2 along body in view of creating an ample amount of gaping in between plate 2 as required for accommodating the utensil, plurality of touch sensors for detecting placement of the utensil over frame 1, a curve link 6 configured with multiple J-shaped members7assembled on one of plate 2 via an inverted L-shaped rod 8 for providing a barricading over the utensils and a gyroscope mapped on the frame 1 to detect misbalancing of the frame 1 and utensil."
