MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411007024 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'portable blade sharpening device.'
Inventor(s) include Ramandeep Singh Deorda; Ravinder Singh; and Himanshu Bagri.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable blade sharpening device, comprising a circular frame 1 configured with a pair of inverted V-shaped members 2 accommodating a scissor to be sharpened, an imaging unit 3 mounted on the frame 1 detecting placement of blades of the scissor, a pair of clamping units 4 arranged on the frame 1 securing scissor's handle, a pair of bars 5 each configured with a sharpening stone 6 installed in alignment with each of the members 2 for sharpening the blades, actuates a slider crank arrangement 7 arranged with each pair of the bars 5 translating the stone 6 in to and fro motion, a chamber 8 installed with each of the members 2 dispensing coolant solution over the blade portion, pair of suction units 9 each configured on the members 2 extracting waste towards and a chamber 10 installed underneath the frame 1."
