MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517092568 A) filed by Arkema France, Puteaux, France, on Sept. 26, for 'polythiol compositions and method for the preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Skowron, Pierre-Thomas; Mendes, Sophie; Tourneur, Kevin; and Jullian, Nicolas.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for preparing a polythiol from a polyene, and to polythiol compositions obtained from cycloaliphatic or isocyanurate polyenes. The method for preparing a polythiol comprises the following steps: a) reacting a polyene with a thiocarboxylic acid in the presence of oxygen (O2) and at least one organic solvent so as to obtain a reaction medium comprising a polythioester and the at least one solvent; b) carrying out a step of deprotecting the polythioester obtained in step a) so as to obtain a polythiol; wherein step a) and step b) are carried out as a one-pot synthesis."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 29, 2024, under International application No.PCT/FR2024/050416.
