MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517072536 A) filed by Daikin Industries, Ltd., Osaka, Japan, on July 30, for 'polytetrafluoroethylene composition.'

Inventor(s) include Kato, Taketo; Yamanaka, Taku; Yamamoto, Emi; Usami, Ryota; and Nishimura, Kenta.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a polytetrafluoroethylene composition which is reduced in the water content and in the impurity content even if the PTFE composition is obtained using a hydrocarbon-based surfactant. The present invention specifically provides a PTFE composition which comprises a PTFE and at least one compound that is selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by general formulae (1) and (2), and which does not substantially contain water. General formula (1): (H-(CF2)m-1-COO)pM1 (In the formula, m represents a number of 4 to 20, M1 represents H, a metal atom, NR54 (wherein the R5 moieties may be the same as of different from each other, and each represent H or an organic group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms) or the like, and p represents 1 or 2.) General formula (2): (H-CF2)n-SO3)qM2 (In the formula, n represents a number of 4 to 20, M2 represents H, a metal atom, NR54 (wherein the R5 moieties are as defined above) or the like, and q represents 1 or 2.)."
