MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004088 A) filed by Birla Institute Of Technology And Science, Pilani, Rajasthan, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'polypeptoids from a-amino acids and its derivatives, and polymeric nanoparticles thereof, and process of synthesis.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a polypeptoids of the formula (4) prepared by using a-amino acid or its derivative under mild conditions with high yields. It also provides polymer nanoparticles synthesised from the polypeptoids of the present invention. The present invention further relates to a process for synthesizing polypeptoids of the formula (4). The process disclosed is capable of synthesizing large-scale peptide-like polymers for diverse applications, which include, but are not limited to, drug, peptide, gene delivery, sensor design, medical devices, excipients, pharmaceuticals, water purification, 3D printing, tissue engineering, fabricated materials."
