MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517045929 A) filed by Ningde Amperex Technology Limited, Fujian, China, on May 13, for 'pole piece, electrochemical device, and electronic device.'

Inventor(s) include Liu, Fang; and Wu, Hua.

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present application relates to the technical field of batteries. A pole piece (1000), an electrochemical device (100), and an electronic device, the pole piece comprising: a current collector (10), an active material layer (20), a tab (30) and a first insulating adhesive layer (40). The active material layer (20) is arranged on the surface of the current collector (10). The active material layer (20) is provided with a first groove (201a) and a second groove (201b) which penetrates through the bottom of the first groove (201a) to the current collector (10). The current collector (10) is partially exposed in the second groove (201b). The tab (30) is accommodated in the first groove (201a) and the second groove (201b). The tab (30) is connected to the current collector (10). The first insulating adhesive layer (40) is disposed on the side of the first groove (201a) facing away from the current collector (10). The projections of the first insulating adhesive layer (40) and the tab (30) in the thickness direction of the current collector (10) are located in the first groove (201a) of the active material layer (20). By means of the aforementioned approach, the influence that the first insulating adhesive layer (40) has on the overall thickness of the pole piece (1000) can be reduced, thus improving the consistency of the thickness of a battery cell, and improving the fast charging and cycle of the battery cell."

The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 27, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/121953.
