MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025664 A) filed by Fujitsu Limited, Kanagawa, Japan, on March 28, 2024, for 'point cloud classification.'
Inventor(s) include De, Arkadipta; Gujjari, Venkata Ujwal Sai; Sengar, Vartika; Rathore, Anuj; and Thapar, Daksh.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A computer-implemented method of performing point cloud classification comprising: selecting a point cloud for classification; obtaining a plurality of subsets of the selected point cloud associated with a plurality of parts of the selected point cloud; obtaining a graph structure representation of the subsets, the graph structure representation comprising nodes associated with each subset and one or more edges connecting the nodes; obtaining a graph structure embedding encapsulating structural relationships between the subsets, comprising inputting the graph structure representation into a graph encoder convolutional neural network; deriving a point cloud representation from the graph structure embedding; and classifying the point cloud representation, comprising inputting the point cloud representation into a classification neural network to obtain a classification of the selected point cloud."
