MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541121545 A) filed by Nandha Engineering College, Erode, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'pneumatic pick and place arm.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Automation is essential in modern manufacturing, where precision, reliability, and efficiency are critical. This project presents the design and development of a Pneumatic Pick and Place Arm, which uses compressed air to perform material handling tasks such as picking, lifting, and placing objects at desired locations. The system reduces human involvement in repetitive operations, enhances productivity, and ensures consistent accuracy. Students involved in the project gained practical experience in mechanical design, pneumatic circuit development, system integration, and automation principles. The project also promotes energy-efficient and sustainable engineering practices, supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), by contributing to affordable, safe, and eco-friendly industrial automation solutions."
