MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517080343 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Aug. 25, for 'plated steel sheet, member, and production methods for same.'
Inventor(s) include Tanaka Yuji; Tomozawa Masanari; Wada Yusuke; and Minami Hidekazu.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are: a plated steel sheet having high strength, and excellent delayed fracture resistance and plating properties; a member; and production methods for the plated steel sheet and the member. This plated steel sheet comprises: a steel sheet which has a component composition containing C, Si, Mn, P, Al, N, Ti, Nb, and B in specific amounts expressed by mass%, and in which the sum of the area ratios of martensite and bainite is at least 95.0%, the area ratio of residual austenite is at most 4.8%, the area ratio of ferrite is 0.2-3.0%, the grain size of prior austenite (prior ?) is at most 10 m, the B concentration at a prior ? grain boundary existing between adjacent martensites is at least 0.05 mass%, variation in the B concentration at a prior ? grain boundary existing between adjacent martensites in the same grain boundary is less than 0.010 mass%, and variation in the B concentration at a prior ? grain boundary existing between martensite and ferrite in the same grain boundary is at least 0.010 mass%; and a plating layer formed on at least one surface of the steel sheet."
The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 18, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/010398.
