MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003681 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 18, 2024, for 'plastic waste-based brick manufacturing device.'
Inventor(s) include Raman Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A plastic waste-based brick manufacturing device, comprises of a housing 1 installed with a chamber 2 allows a user to fill plastic waste, a touch enabled screen 3 accessed by user to input commands for manufacturing the bricks, a telescopically operated gripper 4 to grip the plastic pieces successively, an IR (Infrared)-enabled imaging unit 5 to detect material of plastic, PVC and other plastic pieces are positioned in container 6 and vessel 7 respectively by the gripper 4, a heating unit 9 to melt the plastic pieces, set of motorized sliders 12 to construct a cuboidal structure from plates 11, an electronic nozzle 13 to dispense molten within structure, a Peltier unit to solidify the plastic for manufacturing of brick, a tactile sensor to detect hardness of manufactured brick and a speaker 16 to notify the user to collect the brick from the platform 10."
