MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641022155 A) filed by Vel Tech Multi Tech Dr. Rangarajan Dr. Sakunthala Engineering College; Mr. Gunasekar M; Guna S; Surya P; and Vikram B, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 25, for 'plantshield ai: a smart pest management system for data-driven crop disease optimization using an integrated deeping learning and predictive analytics framework.'
Inventor(s) include Mr. Gunasekar M; Guna S; Surya P; and Vikram B.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The PlantShield AI system is a website that helps people figure out what is wrong with their plants. It uses computer programs to look at pictures of plant leaves and tell people what disease or pest is hurting their plant. You can upload pictures of your plant leaves to the website. It will tell you what is wrong without you needing to know a lot about computers. The website will even get the pictures ready for analysis by making them the right size and getting rid of stuff that might be in the way. The PlantShield AI system is really good, at looking at these pictures because it was made using techniques that help computers learn and understand things. The system uses a kind of computer program called a Convolutional Neural Network model to look at the pictures of plants. This Convolutional Neural Network model checks the pictures to see if there are any plant diseases or bugs on the plants. The Convolutional Neural Network model can even tell what kind of disease. Bug it is. The computer does all the work to figure out what is going on with the plant and what to do about it. This all happens inside the application so it is really fast and always works right. Then the result processing and visualization module shows the user what it found out about the plant diseases or pest infestations. The result processing and visualization module also gives the user some ideas on how to make the plants healthier. The user can see all this information and the ideas, for making the plants healthier in a way that's easy to understand. The system is designed to support accessibility and scalability, allowing usage across various devices such as desktops, laptops, and mobile platforms. By combining deep learning with web technologies, the proposed system reduces dependency on manual inspection, supports early detection, and promotes sustainable agricultural practices. Overall, PlantShield AI offers a practical, accurate, and accessible solution for automated plant health monitoring and intelligent crop management, with potential for future enhancements such as support for additional crops, advanced analytics, and integration with smart farming systems."
