MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084455 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'planting assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Amrita Singh; Vinesh Kumari; and Aarju.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A planting assistive device, comprising an elongated expandable body 1 having a first portion 2 gripped by a user and a second portion 3 configured with a rectangular member 5 to maneuver the body 1 over a soil surface that is to be planted, a touch interactive display panel 6 mounted on the body 1 accessed by the user to provide input regarding depth in which surface is to be digged, multiple pneumatically actuated pins 7 attached with the member 5 to penetrate into the soil, a motorized hinge 9 integrated in between the pins 7 to move the pins 7 for digging the surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 10 mounted on the body 1 to detect successful digging of the surface, and a telescopic link 11 attached configured with a circular flap 12 to collect digged surface for enabling the user to perform planting."
