MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104291 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'plant watering control device.'
Inventor(s) include Meghna Gupta; Archana Sehgal; Vikas Verma; and Preeti Khurana.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A plant watering control device comprises an IR Sensor Module 101 configured to receive infrared signals from a standard TV remote, a Control Module 102 with an 8051 series microcontroller configured to decode the received IR signals and generate control commands, a Pump Driver Module 103 designed to drive a DC water pump in response to the control commands, a Water Pump Module 104 that supplies water to a plant, an Indicator Module 105 including an LED or buzzer configured to indicate the ON/OFF status of the water pump, a timing sub-module within the Control Module 102 configured to maintain the pump in the ON state for a predetermined duration, a Power Supply Module 106 configured to provide regulated DC power to the system, a DC motor-driven pump adapted to deliver water efficiently to a plant pot or garden area, ensuring effective irrigation control."
