MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104292 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'plant leaf disease detection system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Kailash Chandra Juglan; Dr. Neeta Raj Sharma; Dr. Megha Mehta; and Dr. Vishal Sarin.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A plant leaf disease detection system comprising, a data acquisition module 101 configured to obtain images of plant leaves from agricultural environments, an image processing module 102 configured to preprocess the acquired leaf images for model input, a classification module 103 comprising a convolutional neural network (CNN) model to detect and classify plant leaf diseases from the preprocessed images, a dataset management unit 104 configured to utilize one or more plant leaf disease image datasets for training and evaluation of the CNN model, and an output module configured to provide disease classification results indicative of the type and presence of leaf diseases."
