MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019323 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'plant leaf cutting device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sriom.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A plant leaf cutting device, comprising a first and second cylindrical hollow bodies 1, 2 configured with each other and each constructed with a set of extendable plates 3, a T-shaped handle 5 is gripped by user for accommodating second body 2 over a plant, a touch enabled screen 6 enabling user to give input commands for removing leaves from stem of plant, a camera 7 detecting orientation of plant for actuating a holographic projection unit 8 for projecting holograms to guide user in accommodating bodies over plant, a laser acuity sensor detecting diameter of plant for actuating hinge 4 joint for tilting plates 3 towards/away from each other for increasing/decreasing diameter of bodies, and a set of motorized sliders 9 transiting second body 2 in a downwards direction with respect to first body 1 for cutting leaves, thus allowing vertical growth of plant without any obstruction due to leaves."
