MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611002349 A) filed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurugram, Haryana, on Jan. 8, for 'plant-based beverage composition and method for preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Akanksha Yadav; Manisha; Ankur Malik; Dr. Govind Ballabh Bhatt; and Sapna.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A plant-based beverage composition, comprises of ash gourd juice, pineapple juice, sugar, lemon juice, dandelion flower extract juice, and black salt, a method for preparation of a plant-based beverage composition, comprising the steps washing and sanitizing fresh ash gourd and pineapple, peeling, cutting, and blanching the ash gourd, extracting juice from the blanched ash gourd and fresh pineapple, blending the ash gourd juice and pineapple juice in a predetermined ratio, adding lemon juice, dandelion flower extract juice, and sugar, pasteurizing the blended juice at a temperature sufficient to ensure microbial safety and hot-filling the pasteurized beverage into sterilized containers, the ash gourd is blanched by submerging in boiling water for 1 minute followed by rapid cooling, pasteurization is carried out at 85 C for 15 minutes."
