MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020055 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'plank installation assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include R. P. Agarwal; Naveen; Shamshad Hussain; and Dipika Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A plank installation assistive device includes a platform 1 configured with wheels 2 to maneuver platform 1, a screen 3 to enter desired angle and height of a plank to be positioned, an camera 4 for detecting plank's dimension, two poles 5 translates via slider 6 for positioning as per width of plank and extend/retract as per user-input height, a pulley 7 wrapped with string 8 activates for positioning a hook 9 in proximity to platform 1, hook 9 is engaged with plank by user, followed by activation of pulleys 7 for lifting planks as per user's requirement, a set of sensor to determine pole's 5 height and angle of plank and accordingly regulates operation of poles 5 and pulleys 7 for positioning planks safely, multiple bars 10 for positioning an attached suction cup 11 for establishing a grip over surface to act as a counter weight while lifting plank."
