MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073930 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'pit digging device for planting trees.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Pallavi; Dr. Radhika; Shakshi Thapa; and Ayushi.
The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pit digging device for planting trees, comprising a cuboidal housing 1 having four telescopic rods with tracked wheels 2 for a locomotion of the housing 1, a hydraulic pusher 3 extends downwards from a primary opening in a lower surface of the housing 1 for a digging of a pit in the ground surface below the housing 1, a clamp 6 for carrying a cylindrical planting pipe stored in a container within the housing 1, to drop the pipe into the pit dug by the auger bit 5, from a secondary opening in the bottom surface of the housing 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 determine a position of the dug pit under the secondary opening, and a ground penetrating radar sensor detects a stone at a spot under the ground surface."
