MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022831 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 23, 2024, for 'pipe restoration device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pipe restoration device, comprising a C-shaped frame 1 supported by four support legs 2 having a motorized omni-directional wheels 3 enables the device to travel along desired paths, a sensing module determines a precise location of leakage on the pipe, a drop hammer assembly 4 to dislodge a part of the ground, a vacuum hose to remove the dislodged ground, a robotic arm 6 having a motorized ball and socket joint fetches the chain across a surface of pipe for engaging the pneumatic blade with the surface of pipe to execute a cutting action, the robotic arm 6 places cracked section into the box 8 and the robotic arm 6 pick the replacement pipe section from the box 8, a hot air blower 10 blows hot air at the mating edges, and an imaging unit 9 determine the path of the device."
