MUMBAI, India, June 16 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611054803 A) filed by Chitkara University, Rajpura, Punjab, on April 29, for 'pipe leak detection and repair device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Rupinder Singh; Jarnail Singh; Dr. Amanpreet Singh; Dr. Jaswinder Singh; Dr. Maninderjit Singh Khanna; and Dr. Simerjeet Singh Bawa.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pipe leak detection and repair device, comprising a curved adjustable frame 101 constructed from multiple segments 102 to be positioned around an outer surface of a pipe, a strip handling assembly comprising a multi-slot compartment 104, each slot to store a flexible leak detection strip comprising adhesive lined heat-shrink tape for fixing defects of the pipe, a strip application assembly comprising one or more spring loaded motorized clamps 106 to grasp, tension, and apply the flexibles leak-detection strip to the pipe surface, an adhesive dispensing unit comprising an adhesive storage chamber 113 and a spray nozzle 114 via an adjustable linkage 115 to apply adhesive at the leak location, a visual and/or audio alert unit comprising at least one LED indicator 118 and a speaker 119 to provide alert to the user."
