MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026182 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 29, 2024, for 'pipe aligning assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Mahipal Singh; Sandeep Kumar; Ravi Kumar Bhatnagar; and Sunil Gupta.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pipe aligning assistive device comprises a cuboidal body 1 configured with a coupler 2 affix the body 1 with an arm of a hydraulic excavator, a C-shaped frame 3 configured at the body 1 by a motorized pin joint 4, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 5 determines dimensions of the pipe, a motorized curved sliding unit 6 installed with the frame 3 provide translation to an extendable rod 7, a motorized drawer arrangement 8 installed with the rod 7 provide extension to the rod 7, an ultrasonic sensor installed over the rod 7 to monitor inner periphery diameter of the pipe, plurality of hydraulic bars 9 installed over the rod 7 to extend and position a plate 10 in contact with the pipe, plurality of suction units 11 affixing the pipe with the rod 7, and a tactile sensor determines affixing and hardness of the pipe."
