MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611008712 A) filed by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, Haryana, on Jan. 28, for 'pineapple planting device.'
Inventor(s) include Gummadi Bhavya Sri; Gunthala Ramya; and Dr. Neelu Chaudhary.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pineapple planting device, comprises of a plurality of bodies 101, a set of lug tires 102 for traversing along the land, an input means to receive user specification regarding soil assessment, a motorized auger 103 to drill planting holes of controlled depth, a robotic arm 105 to retrieve pineapple shoots from a shoot storage chamber 106, an imaging unit 107 for detecting shoot orientation, size, and health prior to planting, a plate 108 installed via an inverted L- shaped bar 109 to refill and gently compact soil around a planted shoot, a covering unit by means of set of extendable poles 110 for covering the planted plants, a motorized roller 112 coiled with a breathable mesh fabric, a pair or clamps 113 for gripping free-ends of the roller and extend the fabric with the frame and an electromagnet to connect adjacent fabric for covering the entire land."
