MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023050 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 23, 2024, for 'pillion rider supporting device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Dara Singh; and Rajesh Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pillion rider supporting device, comprising a U-shaped frame 1 developed to be positioned over a passenger seat of a two-wheeler, an imaging unit 2 determines dimension of seat, a motorized drawer arrangement 3 to accommodate frame 1 over seat in an appropriate manner, multiple suction units 4 to affix frame 1 with seat, a laser measurement sensor monitors height of user, an extendable vertical plate 5 to provide back support to user, a proximity sensor determines distance of plate 5 from user, a motorized sliding units 6 for positioning of plate 5, a gyroscopic sensor monitors orientation of frame 1, a pair of robotic arms 7 positions a C-shaped member 8 installed with each of arm around user, a rain sensor monitors presence of rain surroundings, and a flap 9 hinged with plate 5 to get deployed over user, thereby preventing user from rain."
