According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The rapid growth of digital interactions has increased the risk of unintentionally exposing personal information online. People often share sensitive details such as phone numbers, email IDs, Aadhaar numbers, and home addresses on various platforms without realizing the potential consequences. This careless sharing can make individuals vulnerable to phishing, scams, identity theft, and data misuse. Existing systems rarely offer automated methods to detect and hide such information before it becomes publicly accessible. To address this need~ the PI Masking Tool provides a real-time, browser-based privacy solution. It scans webpage _content instantly and masks sensitive infonnation the moment it appears. Using black overlays, the tool hides private data from unauthorized viewers. All processing happens locally within the user's browser, ensuring no data is stored, transmitted, or logged. Lightweight, automated, and non-intrusive, the PI Masking Tool enhances user confidence, reduces identity-related risks, and strengthens overall digital safety during evetyday browsing."
