MUMBAI, India, June 16 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611054067 A) filed by Mangalayatan University; Syed Raashid Andrabi; Mr Majid Anwar Bhat; and Dr Alka Singh, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, on April 28, for 'phytomedicinal formulation system comprising wood nettle extract for supporting hepatic fat reduction and liver function improvement.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a phytomedicinal formulation system (100) comprising wood nettle extract for supporting hepatic fat reduction and liver function improvement. The system (100) comprises a wood nettle botanical material unit (1), an extraction module (2), a standardized phytochemical extract component (3), a hepatic lipid metabolism support component (4), an antioxidant protection component (5), an anti-inflammatory support component (6), an oral dosage delivery unit (7), and optionally a dosage optimization unit (8). The standardized phytochemical extract component (3) comprises bioactive constituents including flavonoids, phenolics, lignans, sterols, and antioxidant compounds. The formulation supports reduction of hepatic lipid accumulation, protection of hepatic cells from oxidative stress, reduction of hepatic inflammatory stress, and improvement of liver function parameters. The formulation may be provided as capsules, tablets, powders, granules, decoctions, herbal teas, suspensions, or extract concentrates for use as a complementary phytomedicinal support formulation in fatty liver disease and related metabolic liver conditions."
