MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012906 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'photograph capturing assistive device for mobile phones.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A photograph capturing assistive device for mobile phones, comprises of a plate 1 developed to accommodate a mobile phone, a strap 9 for securing the handle 2 with the user's hand, a touch sensor for detecting accommodation of the strap 9 around the user's hand, a motorized roller 10 configured with the strap 9 to rotate for wrapping the strap 9 to grip the user's hand with the handle 2, an imaging unit 4 for capturing multiple images of the mobile phone, a telescopically operated rod 5 to extend, a motorized clamp 6 for gripping the mobile phone in a secured manner, a microphone to give voice commands regarding number of individuals alongside the user to be included in a photograph to be captured by the user through the mobile phone's front camera, and a motorized hinge 11 to rotate clamp 6 for changing orientation of the mobile phone."
