MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084415 A) filed by Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'photocatalytic co2 reduction using bismuth titanate doped with copper and silver and preparation method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Seema Garg; Amrish Chandra; Isha Arora; and Andras Sapi.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a Metallic and bimetallic doped bismuth titanate as an efficient visible light active photocatalyst: Enhanced CO2 photoreduction capacity. In the present invention, a novel photocatalytic material comprising bismuth titanate doped with copper (Cu) and silver (Ag) is presented. The material is fabricated using a hydrolysis method followed by calcination. The dopant concentration for Cu varies between 0.01% to 0.2% in molar percentage, whereas for Ag it varies from 0.0005 M to 0.002 M. The material is specifically effective for the photoreduction of CO2, producing CO and CH4 with high efficiency and selectivity."
