MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104467 A) filed by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, Haryana, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'photo-bioreactor and autonomous coating system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sudhish Kumar Shukla; and Dr. Vinayak Vandan Pathak.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A photo-bioreactor and autonomous coating system, comprising a photo-bioreactor (PBR) 101 constructed from UV-stable materials forming a transparent flat structure 102 mounted within a cultivation skid 103, the PBR 101 configured to culture Chlorella pyrenoidosa based green corrosion inhibitor synthesis for metal protection, a circulation pump 104 and aeration diffuser unit integrated with the photo-bioreactor to optimize algae growth, a mixing paddle arrangement positioned along the central axis of the photo-bioreactor for uniform nutrient and light distribution, a plurality of sensors to monitor operational parameters, a harvesting and dewatering arrangement to collect algal biomass efficiently, an extraction and solvent recovery arrangement for isolating target compounds and recovering solvents, a formulation and binder mixing arrangement for preparing biomass for coating, a magnetic track crawler 301 to propagate on surfaces, a curing and adhesion arrangement for coating application."
