The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention involves the initial investigation of Salix alba (white willow) pharmacology and therapeutics in preclinical studies involving FCA-induced arthritis in Wistar rats. Salix alba standardized ethanolic extract was used in in-vitro and in-vivo studies to assess its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Joint immobility and inflammation, paw edema, and oxidative stress markers were significantly diminished, and the joint tissue showed pathological improvement. There is compelling evidence that positions Salix alba in the management of arthritis and other chronic inflammatory conditions as positive, safe, effective, and natural."
