MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511133719 A) filed by GNA University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'pet monitoring collar.'

Inventor(s) include Aashna Khurana; Kirtika Thakur; Muskan Kalkotra; Dr. Neetu Mahendru; and Dr. Sameer Varma.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pet monitoring collar comprises of a motorized roller 101 attached to a telescopic U-shaped assembly 103 that automatically extends to cover the pet's body, a hollow semi-circular assembly 104 includes multiple iris holes 112 to enable the pet to breathe, a Laser light 105 projects a focused beam of light to catch the pet's attention and stimulate the curiosity, an AI camera 106 monitors the surroundings of the pet, a small chamber 107 contains a soft fragrance stored inside, a temperature sensor for pet's temperature detection, an IoT-based communication module enables the collar 102 to analyze the duration and frequency of each activity the pet performs, a microphone 109 captures the pet's bark pattern, a GPS module enables the owner of the pet to receive real-time location updates, a processing module embedded with AI and ML protocols analyze behavioral patterns of the pet and determine the pet's emotional state."
