MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010754 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'pet harness device for four-wheeler.'

Inventor(s) include Sunil Kumar Gaur.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pet harness device for four-wheeler includes a plate 1 positioned in proximity to a headrest of a four-wheeler's seat, an ultrasonic sensor for monitoring dimension of headrest and seat and accordingly multiple hinge joints 2 activates to appropriately fix plate 1 in proximity to headrest, an imaging unit 3 to determine presence and position of a pet, a flap 4 integrated on lower portion of plate 1 via a curved sliding unit 5 to translate flap 4 in proximity to determined position, flap 4 is arranged with a roller 6 that rotates to wrap/unwrap leash 7 to attach an electromagnet 8 with magnet crafted in pet's collar, followed by wrapping of attached leash 7 for positioning pet on seat, a microphone 9 for receiving user's voice commands regarding restriction of movement of pet and accordingly roller 6 activate for controlling movement of pet within four-wheeler."
