MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527071492 A) filed by Paragate Medical Ltd., Haifa, Israel, on July 28, for 'percutaneous ultrafiltration.'

Inventor(s) include Hanani Nitai; Shayovich Bar; Hochman Erez; Medvedovsky Dmitry Genady; and Keret Amir.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A fluid extraction chamber suitable for implantation into a non insufflated abdominal cavity including: an elongated expandable body having a long axis and a short axis and configured to move from a collapsed state to an expanded state when deployed in the non insufflated abdominal cavity wherein the elongated expandable body comprises a fluid permeable wall defining an internal volume of the elongated expandable body; wherein in a collapsed state the elongated expandable body is shaped and sized to penetrate through an opening in an abdominal wall into a non insufflated abdominal cavity and wherein in an expanded state the elongated expandable body is thin and has a surface area that is at least (5) times larger than a surface area of said elongated expandable body in the collapsed state; an outlet coupled to the elongated expandable body having at least one opening to the internal volume."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 28, 2023, under International application No.PCT/IL2023/051337.
