MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010811 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 16, 2024, for 'paw protection device for pets.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A paw protection device for pets comprising a body 1 configured with multiple rings 2 via multiple springs 3 for accommodating pet's toes, a laser acuity sensor positioned on rings 2 for detecting diameter of pet's toes, iris lid 4 embedded within rings 2 for gripping pet's toes, a camera 5 for capturing pet's paws images for detecting dimensions of pet's paw, an inflatable member 6 inflated by compressor for gripping body 1 over pet's paw, a C-shaped flap 7 installed with body 1 via pivot joint 8 to prevent injury to individual or damage to claws due to obstacle detected by ultrasonic sensor, a laser sensor fabricated on rings 2 for detecting claw's length, a robotic arm 9 for cutting claws via blade 10, and an electronic nozzle 11 attached with chamber 12 stored with hot water for dispensing water on claws to soften claws."
