MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084472 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'pavement block replacement device.'
Inventor(s) include Mohd Arif; Anshu Tomar; and Swati Pathak.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pavement block replacement device, comprising a platform 1 configuring a handle 3 for maneuvering platform 1 via four omnidirectional wheels 4 pavements, a camera 5 mounted on platform 1 for detecting boundaries of pavement block, a pair of pneumatic blades 6 installed underneath platform 1 via a pair of two-axis lead screw arrangements 7 for providing bidirectional motion to blades 6 to remove concrete residues from boundaries of block, a primary suction unit 8 for collecting residues in a chamber 9, a robotic gripper 10 installed under platform 1 for replacing block with new block, a telescopically operated pusher 11 installed underneath platform 1 for patting, a hollow cylindrical member 12 attached with arrangements 7 and paired with chamber 9 for providing a bi-directional motion to member 12 for pumping concrete residues out from chamber 9, that is filled along boundaries of new pavement block via member 12."
