MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010394 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'patient supporting device for healthcare.'

Inventor(s) include Aakash Kumar; Rajeev Sharma; and Dr. Gagandeep Jindal.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A patient supporting device for healthcare, comprising a platform 1 positioned over a fixed surface, plurality of plates 2 arranged over the platform 1 to accommodate a patient, a display panel 3 installed over the platform 1 for enabling medical practitioner input, a pair of flaps 4 arranged over each of the plates 2 to change side of the patient, plurality of rectangular member 5 configured with the platform 1 for preventing patient from falling, a pair of extendable robotic grippers 6 installed over the platform 1 for extending a strap wrapped on a roller 7 arranged the platform 1 for securing the patient for preventing movement of the patient while changing posture and an imaging unit 8 installed on the platform 1 for determining the position of arm and leg of the patient."
