MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010806 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 16, 2024, for 'passenger boarding and de-boarding system for public transport vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Ashendra Kumar Saxena.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A passenger boarding and de-boarding system for public transport vehicle, comprises of a platform 1 developed to be installed with a public transport vehicle 9, multiple plates 2 installed with platform 1 via links 3 and stored in a collapsed state that are utilized by a passenger for boarding/de-boarding the vehicle 9, a touch enabled screen 4 installed in vehicle 9 accessed by driver to enter location of destination station, a GPS (Global Positioning System) module for fetching real-time location of vehicle 9, a speaker 8 to notify driver regarding arrival of location, multiple pivot joints 5 configured between links 3 to deploy the plates 2 and form a staircase-like structure to allow the passengers to board/de-board and a rectangular member 6 arranged on one plates 2 to extend towards ground surface forming a ramp to allow passengers to load/unload the luggage."
