MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115526 A) filed by Nims University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Nov. 22, 2025, for 'parking assistant system.'

Inventor(s) include Prithivi Raj Singh; and Dikshita Das.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A super advanced smart parking assistant system featuring an autonomous robotic unit 101 for optimizing parking space utilization and guiding vehicles. The robotic unit 101 includes a sensor suite 102, LiDAR 102a, high-resolution cameras 102c, and ultrasonic sensors 102b, enabling real-time environmental mapping 301 and obstacle detection 304. A central parking management system 104 maintains a dynamic parking map 305, identifies optimal parking spaces 306 based on vehicle dimensions 304 and preferences, and dispatches the robot 101. The robot 101 provides multi-modal guidance 307 through visual cues 109 on its display screen 101f, audible instructions 110, and turn-by-turn navigation data 111 sent to a driver mobile device 105 or vehicle infotainment system 106. The system also features collision avoidance 112, improper parking detection 308, dynamic space optimization 307, and integrates with automated charging stations 115 and facility entry/exit systems 117. This enhances space utilization, and improves the overall parking experience."
