MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088290 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'parcel delivery device.'

Inventor(s) include Shreya Kalta; Guladab Bawa; Gunmeet Singh; and Harsh Chauhan.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A parcel delivery device, comprises of a cuboidal hollow body 1 housed with a chamber 8 stored with multiple parcels that are to be delivered, a push-button 2 pressed by a user to place parcels, a motorized door 3 to open and enable the user to place parcels on an extendable platform 9, an imaging unit 4 to detect presence of parcels on the platform 9, an OCR module to detect delivery address written on the parcel, a robotic arm 10 to arrange parcels in a chamber 8, multiple motorized propeller 5 to maneuver the body 1 for landing body 1 at the delivery locations, a camera 6 to detect to detect an authorized recipient near the body 1, a communication module to send a request over a computing unit of authorized recipient to accept the request for receiving the parcel and a packaging unit to pack the parcel."
