MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541125462 A) filed by Hyflex Mobility Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'parallel hybrid retrofit kit.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A parallel hybrid retrofit kit (102) for a two-wheeled vehicle (100) includes an internal combustion engine (116), an electric traction motor (104), a power split device (106), a control unit (120), and a battery (132) configured to power the electric traction motor (104) and to be recharged. The control unit (120) is communicatively coupled to the internal combustion engine (116), the electric traction motor (104), and the battery (132). The control unit (120) is configured to operate the two-wheeled vehicle (100) in an electric-only mode (128) by delivering power solely from the electric traction motor (104) when a vehicle speed is below a first predetermined threshold speed (124). The control unit (120) is further configured to operate the internal combustion engine (116) to deliver power to an output drive (136) when a state of charge (134) of the battery (132) falls below a first predetermined threshold state of charge (126)."
