MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621013441 A) filed by Gokul Global University, Patan, Gujarat, on Feb. 7, for 'paper cutting device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A paper cutting device, comprising a frame 101 with platform 102 provided with slot along its length for receiving and positioning a sheet of paper, a set of gripping units mounted on the platform 102 to secure the platform 102 to an underlying surface, multiple vacuum pads 103 on the platform 102 to stabilize the sheet of paper, a motorized linear slider 104 mounted along the horizontal slot for horizontal movement, a cutting tool installed on the platform 102 for cutting operation, an L-shaped support plate 105 with a linear actuator 106 to engage and cut the sheet of paper positioned along the slot, a sensing unit provided on the platform 102 to verify stabilization of paper and detect alignment of the paper."
