MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517090657 A) filed by Saint-Gobain Glass France, Courbevoie, France, on Sept. 23, for 'pane comprising a titanium carbide coating.'
Inventor(s) include Schmidt, Ben; Motemani Sharabiani, Yahya; Bronstein, Yael; and Huhn, Norbert.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a pane (1) comprising - at least one glass pane (2) having an exterior surface (I, III) and an interior surface (II, IV), and - a coating (20) on the exterior surface (I, III) or the interior surface (II, IV) of the glass pane (2), wherein the coating (20) comprises, at least in the following order starting from the surface (I, II, III, IV) of the glass pane (2): - a bottom highly refractive dielectric layer (21) or layer sequence, - an IR-reflecting layer (22) based on titanium carbide, and - a top highly refractive dielectric layer (23) or layer sequence (23a, 23b), the IR-reflecting layer (22) having a layer thickness of 2 nm to 50 nm."
