MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521105046 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Oct. 30, for 'painting inspection and restoration device.'
Inventor(s) include Nausheen Khilji; Om Prakash Suthar; and Parth Parmar.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A painting inspection and restoration device comprising comprises a housing 101 with cascading sliders 103 for accommodating painting frames on a plate 102 provided over outer section of the housing 101, a pair two axis gantry arrangements 105 equipped with inspection units 106 integrated with ceiling and bottom portion of the housing 101 to capture layered imaging data to determine historical alterations, an articulated robotic arm 107 with a precise nozzle unit 108 to dispense cleaning agent from a multi-sectioned chamber 109 stored with cleaning agent for cleaning, an L-shaped telescopic link 110 integrated with a motorized clamp 111 for retrieving a cotton swab from a storage container 112 for cleaning the painting and depositing the used swab in a disposal receptacle 113, a plurality of air-blowing nozzles 114 dry the painting, a 3D (three-dimensional) holographic projection unit 115 displays inspection visuals."
