MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012895 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'paint bucket lid opening device.'

Inventor(s) include Jaswinder Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A paint bucket lid opening device, comprises of an elongated body having first end 1 a second end 2, a handle 3 configured on the first end 1 for positioning the C-shaped extendable unit 4 over the lid of a paint bucket, a microphone 6 for enabling the user to input voice commands, a camera 7 for capturing multiple images, multiple curve-shaped members 5 to extend/retract in a manner to acquire compatible dimensions as of the lid, multiple motorized hinges 8 to tilt the members 5, a primary robotic arm 9 configured with a blade 10 for cutting off the seal, a speaker 11 for notifying the user, a plate 12 configured multiple telescopic links 13 for inserting pins 14 underneath the lid, and a motorized pivot joint 15 tilting the links 13 to remove the lid."
