MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024836 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'paint brush holding assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Anuradha Barda; Upasna; Roselean Kour; and Diksha Tripathi.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A paint brush holding assistive device, comprising a pair of crosslinked bodies 1 having a proximal and distal ends and configured by a motorized pivot joint 2, a handle 3 is gripped by a user to position body as per requirement, a microphone 4 receives voice command of user regrading gripping of mouth portion of a bucket, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 5 determines thickness of mouth portion of bucket, an electromagnetic spring 6 provides movement to distal ends towards and away from each other, plurality of pneumatic pins 7 grips mouth portion of bucket, a motorized gripper 13 is accessed by user to engage a handle 3 of a paint brush with gripper 13 that operates to grip handle 3, an electronic nozzle 9 by a robotic link 10 positions nozzle 9 over bristles of brush, and a robotic arm 11 positions a curved member beneath bristles."
