MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511123357 A) filed by Dr Shivani Fotedar, New Delhi, on Dec. 8, 2025, for 'paediatric urinary drainage device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr Shivani Fotedar; Dr Arun Fotedar; Shiveesh Fotedar; Riteeka Sapru; and Dr Vivek Mangal.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a paediatric urinary drainage device comprising a vestibular cup having a compliant latch portion configured to seat within a vulvar vestibule and to form a circumferential seal under applied negative pressure, a micro-catheter tip extending from a central passage of the vestibular cup and configured to contact or minimally enter a urethral meatus, a concentric dual-lumen conduit extending rearward from the vestibular cup, an outer lumen of the concentric dual-lumen conduit configured to transmit vacuum toward the vestibular cup and an inner lumen configured to convey urine from the micro-catheter tip, a manually operable suction source coupled to the outer lumen, and a urine collection bag fluidly connected to the inner lumen. Application of vacuum through the outer lumen maintains the circumferential seal and directs urine through the inner lumen into the urine collection bag without deep urethral insertion."
