MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521131758 A) filed by Mit Art, Design And Technology University, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 25, 2025, for 'packaging system.'

Inventor(s) include Sanjana Satish Jeevannavar; Stuti Kinariwala; Tiara Mehrotra; Kejal Vakil; and Bhavin Vamanrao Mali.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a packaging system (100) having crumb-retention features of delicate, flaky, and crumbly products. The packaging system (100) comprises an inner container (10) having bottom portion and a side wall formed by a plurality of segmented unit (12). Specifically, each segmented unit (12) is attached to the other segmented unit (12) by predefined fold lines (12a) and scored hinges (12b) that allows each segmented unit (12) to incline outward at a predefined angle to form a compartment. The packaging system (100) further comprises an outer cover (20) configured to removably cover the inner container (10) when in folded position. Specifically, each segmented unit (12) inclines outward at a predefined angle between 30-60 to balance product containment with ease of access and collectively define a flared opening when inclined outward to facilitate access to the delicate, flaky, and crumbly products."
